Hi friends, it's me Ann.

Next week, we shall gather once more at the Company for some fine company and to listen to some works in progress. When we all got together for our meetup last week, Ivan and Madeline has some exciting (and complicated) updates to share about their project, so I'm looking forward to hearing more about that!

I've sort of hinted at it, but I am also working on a project! My hope is to share a rough trailer for the Thing. I don't want to share too much else about this project but it's kind of related to the election. Wait no, where are you going? Come back!

Anyways, I hope you'll [join us](https://thecompany.social/events/coloradio-listening-party-260908?ref=coloradio.co) on Sept 8 at the Company. The last listening party was great! Please respond to this email if you'd like to nab a time slot and share some of your work. These are informal gatherings and I always make sure to provide snacks. I take my duties as snackbearer very seriously. 🫡

After I go on a vacation and become a human again, I'm excited to bring you ColoRadio's first-ever online event on Oct 9! In case you're new here, a tiny bit of back story:

Once upon a time, I helped to develop and launch a show at Colorado Public Radio called [On Something](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/on-something/id1465961982?ref=coloradio.co), all about life after weed legalization. I hosted it for three seasons, from 2019-2021, and told a bunch of stories about how legalization affected everyday life–health, science, politics, you name it. We won some awards.

It was (for the most part) a blast, and on Oct 9, you can tune in to hear more about how the show came to be, and how we approached different stories about the criminal justice system and the war on drugs, or lighter topics like creativity or food. I'm excited to share that two of my brilliant producers from those days will be joining me! The incredible and talented Jo Erikson and Rebekah Romberg will answer questions about what we learned making this show. That's right! [We're getting the band back together!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzOHq5WbQ8k&ref=coloradio.co)

Anyways, register [here](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1995703457765?aff=oddtdtcreator&ref=coloradio.co) to join us on the World Wide Web on Oct 9 and share with anyone in your life who likes narrative podcasts, or weed, preferably both but it's not required. Either way, we accept you as you are.

**Finally, a parting gift:** I'm also on the board at the Association of Independents in Radio, and there's something I've been meaning to tell you....you should join. First of all, you'll see a lot more of me. But second of all, you can take advantage of AIR's classes and mentorship, community resources, and member discounts to make your wildest audio dreams come true. If you've never joined before, click [here](https://airmedia.org/join/professional?discount=COLORADIO3FREE&ref=coloradio.co) to get 3 months free. 😘 Only for ColoRadio buddies. 🤫

Bestest,
